Homemade Tortilla Recipe

It is so hard to find a tortilla in the store with clean ingredients! Those that are available in the store are typically used with almond flour or cassava (which is fine!) but sometimes I want that authentic flour tortilla taste. This is the perfect recipe for you to incorporate with simple, organic and clean ingredients!

Servings:

10 tortillas

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking poder
  • 5 tablespoons oil or butter
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Directions:

1. In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and oil (or melted butter). Mix with a fork until combined.

2. In a pan on the stovetop, heat water and salt until just warm

3. Add salt water mixture to the flour mixture. Stir until it starts to come together into a dough then knead by hand until fully combined. Cover and rest for 10 minutes.

4. Divide the dough into 10 even pieces and shape into balls. Roll out each ball on a floured surface until very flat.

5. Cook in an oiled cast iron skilled for 30s-1 minute on each side until bubbles start to appear.

Enjoy!

Excited to try this recipe! Can you please share how many cups of flour? It’s not on the list of ingredients. Thank you!
